Tuesday's opening session of America's Keeneland November Breeding
Stock Sale commenced on Tuesday and Street Cry the sire of MAKYBE's Street Hero made headlines once again. This follows a great fortnight on the track with his progeny Zenyatta and Shocking taking him to the top of the sires' premierships in both Australia and America.
Leading Australian bloodstock agent Vin Cox went to $735,000, the session's third highest price, for the stakes-winning Tears I Cry, in foal to multiple Horse of the Year Curlin. Consigned by Select Sales, agent, the five-year-old Chester House mare is from the family of Grade 1 winner and sire Street Cry (Ire).
Tears I Cry's grand dam is Irish Oaks winner Helen Street the grand dam of Street Cry. Remarkably, Helen Street is also the grand dam of champion European 2yo and 3yo Shamardal. Like Street Cry he has made a big impression on the breeding scene with VRC Oaks winner Faint Perfume and Shamoline Warrior two of his best progeny in Australia.
