MAKYBE shares a common interest…

4 November 2009

Tony Santic, owner of triple Melbourne Cup winner Makybe Diva and Laurence Eales, owner of this year's Melbourne Cup winner Shocking share a common interest.

Both have watched their colours salute in The Race That Stops The Nation and both have vested interest in MAKYBE's most recent stallion acquisition Street Hero.

Whilst Eales has celebrated enormous success on the racetrack, Santic's decision to secure the young stallion for Victoria was a timely one.  Santic secured the Southern Hemisphere standing rights for Street Hero, a Grade 1 winner, earlier this year to accompany Purrealist in the MAKYBE Stallion Barn.

Street Hero is a son of Street Cry; whose progeny include the Eales owned Group 1 winners Whobegotyou and Shocking.  After sighting Street Hero at MAKYBE,  Eales was quick to support Santic's decision and reserve mare bookings.

Celebrations at this time of year are all too familiar to Santic, whose racing and breeding operation MAKYBE continues to produce winners at racing's most elite level.

Starspangledbanner took out this year's Group 1 Caulfield Guineas, Headway defeated the best of her age in the Group 1 Coolmore Stud Stakes and Common Interest saluted the judge on Cup Day winning the Schweppes Tonic 1000m Sprint.

The MAKYBE colours will once again be represented at Flemington this coming Saturday by stakes performers Lucky Thunder. and Aztec Smytzer.
