MAKYBE SHINES AT THE MAGIC MILLONS YEARLING SALE

MAKYBE bred horses were at the fore again making a very successful debut at the Magic Millions Yearling Sale. 

Following on from a wonderful start to the two year old season by MAKYBE bred youngsters, MAKYBE presented its first draft at the Magic Millions Sale on the Gold Coast and ended the week in the top five vendors on average and the only Victorian vendor to gain a slot in the top twenty vendors on average.

Offering nine yearlings in the select sale on behalf of MAKYBE and clients MAKYBE ended the sale with a very healthy average of just over $195,000 this being $60,000 above the sale average.

Dean Harvey, Bloodstock Manager at MAKYBE commented " We were very pleased overall, the yearlings were very well presented by the team and as such proved very popular with buyers. We have had great feedback during the week from agents and breeders alike and the form of our two year olds have not gone unnoticed."

The top price of the MAKYBE draft was a Zabeel filly from the very well bred mare Smytzer's Rose realising $350,000 to the bid of Martin Byrne. " She is a lovely relaxed filly with plenty of scope and has Oaks written all over her" commented Byrne. Other results included an Encosta de Lago filly out of the talented racemare Calm Smytzer fetching $320,000, bought by Kris Lees. A Flying Spur filly making $220,000, a Fastnet Rock filly for $210,000, and a Royal Academy filly for $120,000

MAKYBE will next present a quality draft of 22 youngsters at the upcoming Melbourne Premier Yearling Sale starting on March 1 which will present plenty of highlights for buyers. Sires such as Zabeel, Redoutes Choice, Exceed and Excel and Commands will be offered. Relations to Makybe Diva, Arapaho Miss and exciting two year old Exceedingly French will  make their way to Oaklands to give buyers the chance to grab hold of the next Champion to come from Victoria's reigning breeder of the year MAKYBE.
