It has been a remarkable 2yo season so far for the MAKYBE bred 2yo's. The winners keep coming with so far three 2yo metropolitan Saturday winners.
The three stars to emerge from last season's MAKYBE yearlings include: STARSPANGLEDBANNER ($250,000 Inglis Juvenile on Cox Plate Day), CORSAIR (the prestigious black type Merson Cooper Stakes) and now EXCEEDINGLY FRENCH winner at Moonee Valley in the $100,000 Listed St Albans Stakes (1200m).
The latest city winner Exceedingly French was purchased by Badger's Bloodstock for $150,000 from the MAKYBE consignment at the 2008 Inglis Premier Yearling Sale.
Exceedingly French is the fourth foal of the winning Sadler's Wells mare Paris In The Fall (Ire) a three-quarter sister to the champion Old Vic (Sadler's Wells), whose six wins included the Irish and French derbies.
Paris In The Fall (Ire) has a yearling filly by Tale Of The Cat (USA). Her other two foals to race are Danz In Paris (by Danzero) a winner at Randwick in Chris Waller's stable and Robbie Laing has a very promising staying 3yo prospect called Rowland by Lonhro.
Paris in the Fall is in foal to MAKYBE'S foundation stallion Purrealist. Paris in the Fall is just one of the many class broodmares MAKYBE has sent to Purrealist to give him every chance to succeed at stud. An impressive band of mares owned by outside interests has also gone to Purrealist in his first season including Sad Eyed Lady dam of the Meynick Stakes winner and Magic Millions fancy Double Heart.
Paris in the Fall's Tale of the Cat filly will be put through the Melbourne Premier ring in March and with the way Exceedingly French won at the Valley the pedigree could be further enhanced come sale day.
