MAKYBE MARCHES TOWARD SPRING

Tony Santic's racing team unveiled two potential spring players last week with the first starts of of two promising colts.
Bombard, a $550,000 colt by Fusaichi Pegasus from the stakes placed mare La Boisselle opened up his account to win easily at Geelong. He is from the family of Assertive Lad and Assertive Lass, a close relation to promising freshman stallion Reset.
Next to put the score on the board was Captain Coltish. Named after the founder of the property now known as Makybe he easily put away his rivals with a devastating turn of foot to also win at Geelong. He was an $800,000 purchase also by Fusaichi Pegasus and is a half brother to the Group One winning filly Just Momente.
These two colts join the team of Makybe bred youngsters making their mark on the racetrack led by exciting colt Exceedingly Good who returned with a solid performance in the Vain Stakes on Saturday. Makybe progeny will continue toward the Spring with 3yo's Lucky Thunder, Felice Cuore and Lodging all looking to have bright futures.
Makybe will once again present a draft of quality yearlings for all the major sales this year with some twenty eight youngsters up for offer, no doubt having some future stars amongst them. This year will also herald the beginning of Makybe offering a full complement of bloodstock services which will include preparing yearlings for outside clients for these sales.
