Heartsareforlove brought up on the weekend MAKYBE's first metropolitan bred two year old winner for the season with a resounding 6.5 length win at Doomben.
It was a very impressive win for the daughter of Happy Heart by Hussonet with the filly leading throughout and opening up a margin in the straight with brilliant acceleration. Either the Sydney or Brisbane carnival beckons for this filly according to Patinack Farm who purchased the filly from MAKYBE's 2009 Melbourne Premier draft.
The filly is a half sister to MAKYBE bred Gr 1 VRC Oaks winner Arapaho Miss by Danehill Dancer.
Heartsareforlove's older three year old half sister by Royal Academy, Newstar Lass also is a filly with ability. This filly is leased by MAKYBE to Bryan Martin's NewStar Racing Club. Already a winner at Mornington this filly was second at Cranbourne on Friday.
Happy Heart comes from an outstanding international family. Her fourth dam Pocahontas is considered one of the most influential broodmares of all time. Her third dam Lady Rebecca is a half-sister to two American champion racehorses and sires in Chieftain and Tom Rolfe, while Lady Rebecca is best known as the sire of champion shuttle stallion Alzao, and also Norman Pentaquad, the sire of Melbourne Cup winner Doriemus.
The win of Heartareforlove was very timely for MAKYBE with the stud to present a bay half sister by Bianconi Lot 166 at the 2010 Melbourne Inglis Premier Yearling Sales in March (Refer picture). A precocious athletic filly she is expected to be one of the star lots of MAKYBE's Melbourne Premier draft.
