27 October 2008
Starspangledbanner opened up his winning account on Saturday with an all the way win at his first race start on Cox Plate Day. This caps off a winning week as MAKYBE bred and owned gallopers collected winning cheques on five different occasions

In what is sure to be an exciting race career the MAKYBE bred Starspangledbanner led his rivals on a merry chase as he led all the way in the $250,000.00 Inglis Juvenile on Saturday at his first race appearance. Bred and raised at MAKYBE Starspangledbanner was sold for $120,000.00 at the Inglis Premier Sale to leading syndicator Spicer Throughbreds. He is by the Champion Australian Sprinter Choisir from the stakes placed mare Gold Anthem who has already produced the very fast Gold Chant. MAKYBE will offer Starspangledbanner's Royal Academy half sister at the Magic Millions Sale on the Gold Coast in January.

This caps off a very successful week on the racetrack for MAKYBE with five winners across two states. On the Up was the first to get the ball rolling in Brisbane last Saturday and buttered up again this week in a diving finish to grab first prize again making it two wins in a week! Aztec Smytzer was the next to put the score on the board with an exciting win in the Listed Seymour Cup, he will now head for Goup One glory in the Emirates Stakes during the Flemington Carnival. Three year old filly Climatic was next to salute at only her second start. Bred in the purple she is out of a sister to Champion Sire Redoute's Choice, she will also head to the carnival now for her next assingment on Oaks Day.

The quintet of winners highlights the fact that whether it be early maturing two year olds or battle hardened stayers, the hills at MAKYBE have proven themselves once again to be a highly successful source of quality racehorses.
