MAKYBE Proves Diversity

29 October 2009

From sprinters to stayers the win of MAKYBE bred stayer Zupacool in the Listed Jayco Bendigo Cup over 2200m yesterday shows the diversity of distances produced off the property.

This spring, brilliant sprinter-miler Starspangledbanner has flown the MAKYBE flag with great distinction culminating in his magnificent all the way win in the Group One Caulfield Guineas. However, Zupacool, has ensured MAKYBE is well represented in the staying ranks.

In the spring of 2007 MAKYBE showed off the diversity of star graduates with Exceedingly Good winning the 1000 metre two year old dash down the Flemington straight in the Gr. 3 Maribyrnong Plate. Then a few days later Arapaho Miss took out the prestigious Gr. 1 VRC Oaks over 2400 metres.

Nestled in the rolling Barrabool hills on 3200 acres, MAKYBE is perfectly suited to nurturing strong boned and well conformed horses. MAKYBE is fast gaining a reputation as a nursery for producing and agisting group, stakes and metropolitan winner. Justifiably so with the performances this spring of MAKYBE graduates like Starspangledbanner and Zupacool.

Zupacool by Redoute's Choice was purchased by John Symonds for $200,000 at the 2007 Inglis Australian Easter Yearling Sale from the MAKYBE draft.

Apart from both been bred and sold by MAKYBE, Starspanglebanner and Zupacool both have half relatives by MAKYBE's foundation stallion Purrealist born this season. Starspangledbanner's dam Gold Anthem foaled a Purrealist chestnut colt and Zupacool's dam Be Cool foaled a Purrealist bay filly.
